- Plays up to 5 DVD discs consecutively...first such model by a Korean maker

LG Electronics will introduce its new Multi-Disc player (Model: DVM-3830) to target the rapidly growing DVD market in Korea.
The new DVD player can play up to 5 discs consecutively and in addition to audio CDs and VCDs (Video CD). It is in other words a combi-type DVD player that also offers audio component features. In particular, as it can play for long hours, the player is suitable for not only homes, but also for the now popular DVD theaters (so called "DVD Rooms") and public places.

The new product uses GUI (Graphic User Interface) designed by LG Electronics to enhance user convenience and has a Disc Exchange feature so that discs can be exchanged during playback. The player can also program to play selected songs from multiple CDs.
Although Japanese makers like Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba have already introduced their multi-disc DVD players, LG Electronics is the first in Korea to introduce such cutting-edge product. LGE already began selling the player in international markets like North America and Europe since May last year. LGE has sold over 300,000 units of its multi-disc player in the U.S. alone last year. LGE's multi-disc player will also be introduced in China and Latin America next month.

LGE already unveiled its "Home Theater DVD" which combined DVD player and speaker system and "DVD for Digital TV" with progressive scanning function. It plans to introduce an additional 4 to 5 models including portable DVD player and mini-audio component & DVD player within the latter half of this year. LGE plans to expand its presence in the Korean DVD market with a wide range of products that offer a variety of functions and prices.
